The Aquarium has an amazing entrance built as
a giant crocodile's mouth, you have to walk down
the crocodile's throat to get in. Inside is air
conditioned, providing a welcome break from the
tropical heat. Huge tanks of thirty thousand liters
line both sides and show a variety of both fresh-
and saltwater species from around the world.
The tanks have been decorated to resemble the
fish's natural habitat. One tank looks just like
a coral reef; it is aquascaped with resin copies
of real corals and sponges. The small damselfishes
swimming amongst the coral branches really look
at home.
Upstairs, there are displays of smaller aquarium
fishes, turtles, frogs, crabs, lizards, giant
snakes, nocturnal birds and animals. This is followed
by a display of seashells and fishing equipment
showing local and imported fish catching techniques.
There is also a food & drinks counter with
souvenirs for sale.
